My Trip to Utah

My trip to Utah started out on the 5th of May and I'll be got home on the 30th. Gary left on the 11th, so I've been without him for 19 whole days! :( But I'm happy that he gave me the chance to stay with my family for so long. These are some of the adventures that I have had while being up here.

My brother Braden, who is 2 years old, loves bathes. Every time he gets his diaper changed he runs for the tub thinking it's bath time. He also has some swimming goggles that he wears around the apartment and in the tub. And just like every toddler he gets water everywhere. He's so darn cute. :) I feel bad I don't get to spend as much time with him as I would like.(My family lives in Utah now.) So when we're together I take as many pictures as possible.

My sisters have ice skating lessons every Saturday morning. They are getting so good! Lacey is so graceful in her spins and Adrianne is a speedy litte girl.

One of my favorite places to go, besides the Quilted Bear, is Bridal Veil in Provo Canyon. It's a beautiful waterfall. At the base is a pool to put your feet in, there's a path to walk on, or there are picnic tables. You can climb to the 2nd tier of the waterfall which is fun. The water is snow run off so it's pretty cold. This time it was just Gary and I that went to the waterfall.

On the 16th my Grandma Weddle, Aunt Jennifer, and Aunt Marianne came to visit. We went to South Fork to have a picnic dinner.

Anytime there is water I am in it. My sister's are the same way. SO, there just happened to be a creek running right by our picnic table.

Braden loves to play with balls. He's got an awesome throwing arm! You'll get hit in the head if you aren't paying attention.

Welcome home Elder Weddle

The excitement built as we stood there waiting at the SLC airport on May 6th. We had our shirts on that I had made(The girls and I wore matching shirts which I designed the iron on for the shirts myself. I'm a little proud of them.), we had our signs I made, and we had our balloons. We were all ready for him to show up. We were so excited when we finally saw him at the top of the escalator. Welcome home Elder Weddle! (Oh, to explain the sign that says Welcome Home Elder Bub. Bub is sorta Brian's nickname. My mom hates it because she calls him bubby, but we've always shortened it to bub.)

Asher turns 1

On April 23rd of 2008 Asher was born. Sasha, his mother, was in pain howling all day long that day. We couldn't figure out what was going on so we took her to the vet when Gary got home. As the vet looked her over she asked if she could be pregnant. I said,"No way is my Sasha pregnant." (Even though we also have a male dog whose not fixed) But I was in denial and wouldn't consider the thought of her being pregnant. They are my "babies" they can't get pregnant. So the vet asked if she could take an x-ray and sure enough there was a rat looking thing in her stomach. (The vet asked if I would be sad if he didn't make it and I said no. I wasn't expecting him so I really wasn't attached to the idea yet. I was still trying to remember how to breath! But I am so thankful for the little guy.) What a surprise! I thought we were coming out with some meds, but instead we came out with a brand new puppy! He was so big she had to have an emergency c-section. We left, while they performed the operation, ran to Walmart to grab a few things (like little puppy bottles and milk) and hurried back. When we returned they handed me a very very small, very cute, very expensive furry thing wrapped in a wash cloth. They handed Gary a very doped up Sasha. I asked, "What do I do with this thing?" I was freaked out that I would kill the poor little guy. The vet told me I would have to bottle feed every two hours until Sasha was better and off her pain meds. I had never been so tired. It gave me a glimpse of what it would be like to have a newborn baby. I found that most things about taking care of him were just common sense. We couldn't come up with a name for him for awhile so we called him "burrito" because he was small enough we would wrap him in a wash cloth like a burrito. Taking care of him gave me a sense of motherhood. He's my baby.

Asher's first picture.

Gary holding "Burrito"

I went to the Grand Canyon with Macki and Rusty and while there I got a text from Gary saying, "He's winking at me." Asher was a week and a half when he opened his eyes.

I named him Asher Dolan. (All our dogs have middle names that have a meaning to them. Their first names are just names I like.) Asher I liked and Dolan means dark haired.
He was so small.

Asher was so very hard to wean. We finally had to leave him with Candi and leave Sasha at the vet's kennel while we went on vacation. That seemed to do the trick.

Isn't this a cute face!

Asher today. He loves to play with his moms (me and Sasha), he follows around Gary's dad, and as soon as my eyes open in the morning he is right there to greet me. He is so fun and I am so thankful for him.

Easter Sunday

I got the chance to go up to Utah to visit my family for Easter. My grandma was able to go up with me to visit. We spent Easter sunday at Temple Square with my family Braden, Adrianne, Lacey, Me, Mom, Dad, and Grandma. It was beautiful. The buds were coming out on the trees in bright pinks and white. I loved it.

Snow Fun

Valentine's Day Gary took me to go snow mobiling. We went up near Clint's Well with some friends. It was a blast! Gary tipped over once. I never tipped over, but I probably never went fast enough to tip over. It was snow fun.

Good game Cardinals

It was an up and down, back and forth kind of game. We were on the edges of our seat the whole time. The Steelers ended up winning 27-23. (And the worst part of the Steelers winning is that I really hate the Steelers and it kills me to see them celebrating.) I'm just proud that the Cardinals made it as far as they did this year, it's been a good year. We'll get 'em next year. Good game Cardinals, good game.
